Alta Ventures Mexico is an early-stage venture capital fund helping passionate entrepreneurs grow innovative companies in Mexico. Based in Monterrey, Alta Ventures Mexico provides seed, venture and growth capital to companies targeting high-growth markets. The Alta team has directly founded several startups and as investors helped launch more than 80 companies. Mexico Comes Online
Mr. de los Santos met Ahlstrom at the 2008 LAVCA-AMEXCAP Summit in Mexico City, and was inspired by the idea that venture capital funds can democratize capital and empower entrepreneurs without relying on public and private power. Soon after, De los Santos and Ahlstrom teamed up on a seed fund program known as Kickstart Mexico, and to launch Alta Ventures Mexico.

Alta in the News
"Alta Ventures Mexico, intends to back about 15 companies, investing from the seed to growth equity-stage companies with $10 million in revenue. Its targets include health care, technology, education and consumer-oriented technologies."
Alta Ventures Mexico is also working to help shape the Mexican venture market. It is teaming up with Tecnológico de Monterrey and the U.S. Consulate in Monterrey to organize a venture capital conference that will tackle, among other matters, the public policy issues that Mexico needs to deal with to foster entrepreneurship and the venture industry.
